About
Hi, I’m Alex Callen, the author of Placed: A Field Guide to the System You’ve Always Felt but Never Named. My journey as a writer is driven by a deep curiosity about the patterns that weave through our lives. It’s as though stories, in some mysterious way, have always followed me—presenting themselves when I least expect them and urging me to take notice.

The Spark That Started It All
As a kid, I often found myself wondering if the world was truly random, or if there was something deeper at work, hidden beneath the surface of everyday life. Over time, I began to notice something strange: the stories I encountered—whether in the books I read, the conversations I had, or the events in my own life—seemed to line up in ways that felt too perfect to be coincidental. I didn’t have the words for it back then, but I soon realized I was witnessing an emotional design at play—how our lives, our choices, and our experiences are often shaped by invisible forces that connect us all.
Why I Write
Writing, for me, is not just about creating stories; it’s about exploring how the things we experience are often part of something bigger. I write because I feel a calling to share how the emotions we encounter—our grief, joy, heartbreak, and wonder—are all pieces of a much larger emotional pattern. I want to help others see that life isn’t as random as it seems, and that the moments that shape us are often placed there, waiting to be noticed.
